Parent Representative Organization

Help make lasting memories by participating in the yearbook committee. Photos from the Parent Portal are incorporated into a yearbook available to families as a permanent remembrance and treasured keepsake of their special time spent at CDS.

This committee plans and organizes three parent-only social functions; a December holiday party, a sign-on party and an End-of-Year celebration. In addition, they will organize one child-friendly function in the winter on a teacher in-service day. These events provide an opportunity to celebrate the friendships made and memories shared.

Raises financial support for Country Day School. These funds are critical for the addition of resources to the classrooms, maintaining our extensive grounds, sustaining our scholarship program and more. Initiatives focus on the annual fund, the sale of school branded merchandise and the sale of custom artwork tiles that are permanently on display in the school.

Serve as stewards in efforts to support the on-going maintenance and enhancement of our historic grounds. Volunteers coordinate fundraising efforts with local nurseries, build community through coordinating classrooms in the spring ‘Big Dig’ to beautify our campus and support teachers in their efforts to fully utilize our grounds as an extension of their classrooms.

The grade ambassador will help organize whole grade events. These include Fall and Spring picnics, an adult potluck, help organizing out of school activities such as soccer and communicating ideas for 3 play dates per year. The PRO chairs and Pro Liaison select all Grade Ambassadors.

Organize initiatives every other month that strive to introduce our children to the idea of helping others in age-appropriate ways. Coordinate and work directly with teachers, children and outside community organizations.

Held every fall this event seeks to encourage a love of reading and books in our children through the organizing of a book fair where parents can purchase books for their own personal enjoyment or make donations to our school library.

Parent volunteers provide 4-5 themed luncheons for faculty and staff throughout the school year. These luncheons typically include homemade and/or catered fare and seasonal decorations. Volunteers are needed to help prepare treats and help with setup and cleanup

A perennial favorite, the CDS Spring Fair is held the first Saturday in May and is open to all. As a completely parent-run event, it takes many, many volunteers to staff and organize crafts, games, inflatables, face painting, food, and fun for the entire family.
