We are excited to introduce our new Learning in Action" page, which features child development news and developments, as well as how our teachers expertly integrate these topics into the curriculum.
Yes! I Want to Support Country Day School
Help us do what we do best. For more than 50 years, CDS has provided the best in early childhood education. In order for children to enjoy the best of early childhood experiences at Country Day, the school cannot rely on tuition alone. Your donation allows the school to supplement its operational expenses and keep tuition competitive. Continue the tradition of supporting CDS through the Annual Fund and do your part today for generations of CDS students tomorrow.
The school recently celebrated an important milestone, the 50th anniversary of the founding of the school, during the 2014-15 school year. When Dorothy McCormick began the school in 1964 she had a vision of a school dedicated to young children where they could learn and explore and where parents can play an active part in the process. The school’s philosophy happily remains as she planned and the goal is to make CDS’s next 50 years as strong in the future as it has been in the past.
The Annual Fund assists CDS in its continued implementation of its important mission. Vital to the past success at CDS has been the wonderful faculty who devote their time to preparing and offering the children the best programs possible. This unrestricted fund helps the school become increasingly competitive with faculty salaries and benefits, provides frequent professional development opportunities, and offers the resources necessary to support well-planned teaching practices in classroom settings designed for young children.
Our goal is 100 percent participation from our families. A donation enhances a child’s education at CDS and a gift of any size is a wonderful demonstration of support for Country Day School.
Currently CDS sets tuition each year to give as many families as possible the opportunity to have their children attend the school. Tuition and summer camp income does not fully cover the school’s operating expenses, however, and each year the school relies on fundraising events such as our biennial auction to reduce the gap. The Annual Fund assists further in covering this gap.
