No. Very few, if any, independent schools meet full operational costs with tuition alone. Like many other independent schools, we rely upon the generosity of our donors.
All contributions are fully tax-deductible according to IRS guidelines. Upon giving a gift to CDS, you will receive a gift receipt that you can use for tax purposes. Please check with your tax advisor for details regarding your individual circumstances.
Currently CDS sets tuition each year to give as many families as possible the opportunity to have their children attend the school. Tuition and summer camp income does not fully cover the school’s operating expenses, however, and each year the school relies on fundraising events such as our biennial auction to reduce the gap. The Annual Fund assists further in covering this gap.
