Dear Prospective Parents,
We are delighted you are exploring Country Day School as a preschool opportunity for your child. For more than 50 years, CDS has provided young children and their parents with a warm, safe and nurturing "first school experience." Our skilled and experienced faculty is masterful at helping young children make the transition from home to school through the welcoming and stimulating classroom environments they prepare for the children. Children at CDS engage daily in a balance of individual, small and whole group activities, indoor and outdoor learning areas, and teacher-directed and child-initiated play and learning experiences. The entire program helps children to develop a love of learning as well as an appreciation, respect and knowledge of the world around them.
”Some of my fondest memories are of my time at Country Day – whether it was learning how to make papier mache on a balloon, riding tricycles on Walnut or ponies on the front field, or swimming in the pool at summer camp. I still can remember my friends’ faces some of whom I am in touch with to this day, while waiting on the porch for carpool, and hanging up my coat on the hooks in the front hallway.” -CDS alumnus 1975-77 & alumnae parent
We encourage you to review our website for descriptions of our program offerings and curriculum and glimpses of our rolling grounds. While the website introduces you to CDS and the programs we offer nothing compares to seeing and hearing our children and teachers interact as together they discover, create, and explore. I invite you to schedule an individual parent tour to see for yourself and to gain perspective on a child’s and parent’s experience while a part of the CDS community. Please refer to the Application Process page for more information or feel free to contact me directly.
We are appreciative of your interest in Country Day School and look forward to meeting you as we move through the application process together.
