For over 47 years, the Country Day School has provided young children a developmentally appropriate curriculum that encourages problem-solving and a passion for learning. Our beautiful grounds provide extensive opportunities to learn more about our natural world. Outdoor activities are integrated throughout the planned curriculum, and our gifted teachers are able to nurture “teachable moments” that arise when a child discovers something new.
In support of these traditions in teaching and learning, we invite you to join us at the biennial CDS Auction and Gala in March 2013. The event promises to be a memorable evening for CDS families and staff. Proceeds will support the transformation of the Giving Tree playground into a science and nature-based space where the children can discover scientific concepts as they play. More details on the design, and how the new playground will support the children’s curriculum, will be coming in the 2012-13 school year!
We will kick off the fun with an online auction starting approximately a month before the live auction date. Our community will be able to bid on a wide variety of donated goods and services. In previous years, items included sporting event tickets, beauty services, restaurant gift certificates, and beautiful boutique items from local retailers.
On the evening of the Gala, a silent auction will include class project items (created entirely by the children), special experiences with our fabulous teachers, and theme parties hosted by CDS parents. The Live Auction also promises to offer special and exciting experiences. A catalog of silent and live auction items will be sent out prior to the auction so plan your bidding strategy early!
