Camp CDS begins for children enrolled in Session 1 on Monday, June 19. We can't wait to see you! Be sure all required forms and items are in to the camp office on time so that campers may attend without delay.
Parent Representative Organization
The Parent Representative Organization, commonly referred to as PRO, oversees parent volunteers in support of school wide activities and events. These events offer a wide variety of opportunities to get involved, make friends, and make a positive and lasting difference at Country Day School.
Held every other year, this festive evening event is the school’s major fundraiser. It draws upon a wide array of parent talents – solicitation of donations, sponsorships, marketing, logistics and event planning to produce an evening of philanthropy and community. The 2016-17 Auction will be held on March 10, 2017. Save the date!
Held every fall this event seeks to encourage a love of reading and books in our children through the organizing of a book fair where parents can purchase books for their own personal enjoyment or make donations to our school library.
CDS Community Builders
This committee works to support and celebrate a sense of pride in being part of the CDS community. School spirit is fostered through the sale of school branded merchandise while financial support is generated through the sale of custom art work tiles that are permanently on display.
Organize initiatives that strive to introduce to our children the idea of helping others in age-appropriate ways. Coordinate and work directly with teachers, children and outside community organizations.
Provides support to other PRO committees in the tracking, budgeting and reporting of finances associated with revenue generating events.
Raises unrestricted financial support for Country Day School. These funds are critical for the addition of resources to the classrooms, maintaining our extensive grounds, sustaining our scholarship program and more. Initiatives focus on the annual fund and the development of corporate/community partnerships.
Serve as stewards in efforts to support the on-going maintenance and enhancement of our historic grounds. Volunteers coordinate fund raising efforts with local nurseries, build community through coordinating classrooms in the spring ‘Big Dig’ to beautify our campus and support teachers in their efforts to fully utilize our grounds as an extension of their classrooms.
PRO Classroom Representative
Representatives attend monthly PRO meetings and serve as a liaison with their classroom teachers to help coordinate classroom specific special events, sign-ups, parent volunteers, and teacher appreciation projects. The PRO chairs and Administration select all Classroom Representatives.
This committee plans and organizes two parent-only social functions; a December holiday party and an End-of-Year celebration. These ‘friend raising’ events are filled with fun and food and provide an opportunity to celebrate friendships made and memories shared.
A perennial favorite, the long standing tradition of the CDS Spring Fair is held the first Saturday in May and is open to all. As a completely parent-run event, it takes many, many volunteers to staff and organize crafts, games, inflatables, face painting, food, and fun for the entire family.
Parent volunteers provide 4-5 themed luncheons for faculty and staff throughout the school year. These luncheons typically include homemade and/or catered fare and seasonal decorations.
Coordinate with other parents to attend and photograph classroom and school wide events. Photos are incorporated into a yearbook available to families as a permanent remembrance and treasured keepsake of their special time spent at CDS.
There are no active sign ups at this time, but we invite you to contact Lynn Hall or your class PRO representative if you'd like to get involved. All interested parents are welcome to attend our monthly PRO meetings, held at 7pm the first Monday of each month.
For more information about PRO events or committees, please contact the PRO liaison, Lynn Hall.
